The Microlino Lite: A Game-Changer in Urban Mobility

The Microlino Lite, recently unveiled by Swiss company Micro at the Geneva Motor Show, is set to revolutionize urban mobility with its compact and efficient design. With a top speed of 45km/h (28mph) and a range of up to 100km on a single charge, the Microlino Lite offers a convenient and eco-friendly alternative to traditional modes of transportation.

Designed for urbanites and city dwellers who value convenience and sustainability, the Microlino Lite is perfect for quick trips to the market, commuting to work, or dropping off kids at school. Its compact size allows for easy maneuvering on narrow city streets, while its lightweight design ensures minimal energy consumption compared to standard electric vehicles.

The Microlino Lite shares the same steel unibody design as its larger counterpart, the Microlino, measuring 2.5m long, 1.47m wide, and 1.5m high. With a curb weight of under 600kg, it is classified as an L6e vehicle, meaning it can be driven by anyone with an AM-class moped license in Europe. The microcar comes equipped with a sunroof, a spacious 230-liter trunk, and options for a premium interior with vegan leather seats and Bluetooth speakers.

Equipped with a 5.5kWh battery pack as standard, the Microlino Lite can travel up to 100km on a single charge, with the option to upgrade to an 11kWh battery for a maximum range of 177km. Charging the 5.5kWh battery from 0 to 80 percent takes approximately two hours using a 2.2kW Type 2 charger, while the larger 11kWh battery requires around four hours to charge fully.

Priced at CHF149 per month for a 48-month lease with a 5,000km/year mileage limit, the Microlino Lite offers a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to traditional car ownership. Comparatively, the Microlino Lite lease is significantly more affordable than leasing a comparable Biro electric microcar, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious urban dwellers.

Pre-orders for the Microlino Lite are now open, with deliveries expected to begin in early summer. While initial availability is targeted towards European markets, Micro aims to expand the distribution of the Microlino Lite to other regions in the future. With its innovative design, eco-friendly features, and affordable pricing, the Microlino Lite is poised to become a game-changer in urban mobility.
