Some main points of criticism include the explicit sexual scenes and the lack of direction throughout the series. Dialogue from the show, especially the provocative lines delivered by The Weeknd’s character, became popular memes on the internet. Originally, director Amy Seimetz was hired to bring the struggles and exploitation of a rising pop star in Los Angeles to life.
