The Expansion of Jio AirFiber: A Revolution in Internet Connectivity

In today’s digital age, internet connectivity has become an integral part of our lives. However, not everyone has access to high-speed broadband. Recognizing this gap, Reliance has introduced Jio AirFiber, a revolutionary service based on 5G FWA (Fixed Wireless Access), specifically designed for individuals and businesses without fiber broadband access. Initially available in select Indian cities, Jio AirFiber has recently expanded its reach, providing an extensive list of cities where the services are now accessible.

Reliance initially launched Jio AirFiber in eight major Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune. However, to commemorate the festival of Diwali, the company has extended the availability of Jio AirFiber to numerous additional cities. The complete list of cities where Jio AirFiber is now accessible has been updated on the company’s dedicated webpage for this service. Some of the newly added cities include Anantapur, Guntur, Kakinada, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bengaluru, Mangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Hyderabad, Warangal, and Kolkata, among others.

While Jio AirFiber has rapidly expanded its reach, its competitor, Airtel, also offers a similar service known as Airtel Air Fiber. However, Airtel Air Fiber is currently only available in select locations, including Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. Nevertheless, Airtel has expressed its intentions to expand its service to more cities across India in the near future.

Under the Jio AirFiber service, users gain access to an extensive range of benefits. Subscribers are provided with over 550 digital TV channels and subscriptions to more than 16 OTT (Over-The-Top) apps. Jio AirFiber services ensure a Wi-Fi-like experience and strong signal even in areas without fiber connectivity. The versatility of Jio AirFiber is demonstrated through various use cases, such as supporting smart home services like surveillance, smart home IoT (Internet of Things), gaming, and home networking systems. Additionally, Jio AirFiber subscribers receive a 4K smart set-top box and a voice-enabled remote as part of their bundled package.

To access the Jio AirFiber service, users need to have an outdoor unit installed on their terrace, rooftop, or in close proximity to their home. This installation service is chargeable, but the company often waives the installation fee for those opting for annual plans. The monthly plans for Jio AirFiber start as low as Rs. 599 (excluding GST), providing up to 30 Mbps speed and unlimited downloads. Subscribers can also enjoy a wide range of OTT services, including JioCinema, Sony Liv, Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5, Sun NXT, Hoichoi, Lionsgate Play, Discovery+, ShemarooMe, DocuBay, ALTBalaji, Universal+, EPIC, and more. Additionally, Jio AirFiber offers higher-tier plans priced at Rs. 899 and Rs. 1,199 per month, catering to different user requirements. Subscribers also have the option to choose annual or six-month plans for added flexibility.

Jio AirFiber’s expansion into numerous cities across India marks a significant milestone in bridging the digital divide. Reliance’s commitment to providing high-speed internet connectivity to areas where fiber broadband is not readily available demonstrates their dedication to transforming the online experience for millions of individuals and businesses alike. With its impressive features, extensive service offerings, and affordable plans, Jio AirFiber is undoubtedly revolutionizing internet connectivity in India, enabling users to unlock the full potential of the online world.
